LAura tweedale

writer + flower farmer

Laura Tweedale is a freelance writer and flower farmer based in rural Oxfordshire, England. She lives with her husband, their two young children and small brood of chickens. She has an MA in Creative Writing and BA (Hons) in Drama.

Her first book, The Joy of Reusable Nappies, was independently published in October 2020 by Bow Bird Press. She has written for a number of publications, including JUNO magazine (The Rise of Reusable Nappies, 2021) and lifestyle magazine Cheshire Life (Waste Not, Want Not, 2022). For two years she held a bi-monthly column on sustainable living for Inside magazine before her family gave up suburban life in the North West and relocated 150 miles to the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire countryside.

Laura has been a guest on a number of podcasts including Minimalist Moms and the Sustainable(ish) Podcast and appeared on BBC Gardeners’ World in March 2021 (episode 2) and again in February 2023 (episode 2). She remains a lifelong advocate of the benefits of gardening and sustainable living.

A few months after her relocation, Laura established Offset Floral - her small cut flower farm. She sells bunches through local businesses in North Oxfordshire, direct from her garden gate, bouquets (on request), as well as by the bucket for florists and floral clubs / floristry societies. 2024 is her second commercial growing season.

Laura sees Offset Floral as an extension of all her values and her desire to protect this world for future generations.
