A Beginner’s Pocketbook on Reusable Nappies

On Wednesday 13 May 2020 I was the guest speaker at author Jen Gale’s online Sustainable(ish) Festival on the topic: ‘A beginner’s guide to reusable nappies’. I was honoured to be given the platform to help guide beginner’s (and some dab hands too) in their cloth nappy journeys - thank you to every single person who watched. In lockdown, there has been unprecedented interest in real nappies. It warms my heart completely.

When it comes to cloth nappies, often the two sticking points for people are poo and washing! So we’re here to dispel a few myths about dealing with dirty nappies. There’s lots of information out there on complex wash routines, which is for the most part unnecessary so for the purpose of this video we have left out information on temperatures and detergents. For more specific details please check the nappy manufacturer guidelines, and follow packet instructions for detergent amounts.
